Brentford Market is a weekly food market in West London. The historic market was reopening after a thirty-year gap in trading, and they required an identity and marketing materials for their big relaunch.
As a market with 700 years of history, they wanted their identity to convey that past while appealing to a fresh audience. We solved this with a visual style that appropriated 19th-century elements and paired them with modern graphic treatments. Vintage engravings of food were sourced and given a bold pop-art look, with block colours and a Python-esque collage style to catch the eye.
